પ્રકરણ ૯: નવ વર્ષ પૂર્વે | રાત્રિની શોધમાં   ૨૭ ફેબ્રુઆરી ૨૦૦૩, ગુરુવાર નિશાએ સ્વપ્નેય ન વિચારેલ કે પવન, કે જે તેને ૯ વર્ષ પૂર્વે છોડીને જતો રહ્યો હતો તેજ તેના માટે એક પત્ર છોડી જશે! કદાચ પ્રણય જ એટલો પ્રમાણિક અને નિષ્ઠાવાન હતો કે દગો મળેલ નિશા હજુ દગાખોરને ઝંખી રહી હતી અને ગુનેગાર માફી. સત્ય છે કે પ્રભુ સત્યના પારખા લે છે, અને માટે જ આજે ૯ વર્ષ બાદ દગાબાજ પવન એક કાગળ થકી તેની પ્રેયશીને તેની નિર્દોષતાનું પ્રમાણ આપવા જઈ રહ્યો હતો, અને ઘાયલ નિશા પણ, અધીરી થઈને આ દગાબાજ નો પક્ષ લઈ તેનેજ નિર્દોષ ઠેરવવાની તાલાવેલીમાં લાગી હોય એમ કાગળમાં લખેલ એક એક શબ્દને તેની ધ્રુજતી આંગળીઓ દ્વારા સ્પર્શી રહી હતી, જાણે કે તે અક્ષરો નહી પણ ખુદ પવન જ હોય. પીડિત હૃદયનું ઊંડાણ જાણે કે બંડ પોકારી રહ્યું હતું, કેહતું હતું કે આ પત્ર સાક્ષી છે કે તેનો પ્રેયસ દગાબાજ ન હતો, આજે પણ તે આ રાત્રિને તેની બહોપાશમાં ચપોચપ સાચવીને બઠો હતો.  Image credit: AI generated by Co-pilot designer software of Microsoft "કેમ છે મારી રાત્રિ?" પવનના આ પ્રારંભિક સંબોધને જ નિશાને હસતા હસતા રોવડાવી દીધી; આંખો એટલીતો ભીની થઇ ગઈ...

૨૮ ફેબ્રુઆરી ૨૦૦૩, શુક્રવાર એક દર્શનાર્થી તરીકે કુતુહલનો ભાવ ચોક્જકસ જન્માવે તેમ તારણહારને નમન મુદ્રામાં શીષ જુકાવતા પવનને હાલ પાંચ મિનિટથી વધુ સમય થઈ ગયો હતો, જોકે તેનું આ નમન આવતા જતા અન્ય દર્શનાર્થીઓ માટે ધ્યાન્ગમ્ય તો નોહતું. જ્યાં આપની મૂંઝવણની માઝા મુકાઈ હોય ત્યાં અન્ય કોઈના સાક્ષાત્કારની કોઈને શું પડી હોય, પણ શ્રીનાથજી મંદિરના ગર્ભગૃહમાં હાથ જોડીને ઉભેલ પવનને કોઈ તો હતું જે ક્યારનુયે એકીટસે જોઈ રહ્યું હતું.  રાત્રિની શોધમાં | પ્રકરણ- ૮ | સંત અને કર્મ  શુક્રવાર હતો આજે, અને માટે જ દર્શનાર્થીઓનું આવાગમન પણ નીયંત્રણમાં હતું. મંદિરની બહાર તાજો ઊગેલ સુર્ય ખુબ નિર્મળતાપૂર્વક ભમરીની પીળી પાંખો જેવો પ્રકાશ પથારી રહ્યો હતો. માર્મીક્તાથી બેઠો થતો દિવસ મંદિરની ચોફેર આચ્છાદિત હરિયાળીની સાથે રીતસરની જાણે વાતો કરતો હોય એમ પળે પળે આળસ મરોડી રહ્યો હતો. મંદિરનાં પ્રાંગણમાં ક્યાંક મોગરો, ક્યાંક ગુલાબ, ક્યાંક ચંપો, તો વળી ક્યાંક પારિજાતનાં પુષ્પો ભીના પવનના સુસવાટાઓ પર સવારી કરી ખુદની સુગંધને પ્રસ્થાપિત કરવાની હરીફાઈમાં લાગેલ હતા. સાથે, પાન-પત્તાઓ પરના ઝાકાળબિંદુઓ દિવસના આ નૈસર્ગિક આગમનને...

પ્રકરણ ૭: કાગળ | રાત્રિની શોધમાં   ૨૭ ફેબ્રુઆરી ૨૦૦૩, ગુરુવાર  લગભગ વિદાય લેતો નલિયાનો શિયાળો અને તેની આ ભેંકાર બપોર, દેખીતી રીતે ખાલી પડેલી શેરીઓ, અને ઉપર ટિંગાતા એવા શ્મશાનની રાખ સમા ભૂરા રંગનાં વાદળો- આ બધુજ નિશા માટે આટઆટલા વર્ષો બાદ પણ જાણીતું જ હતું, પણ કદાચ નલિયા જ આજે તેને ઓળખી રહ્યું નોહતું. નલિયા સ્ટેશનેથી ધ્રુજતા પગલે તે જ્યારે ચાલતી થઈ ત્યારે તેને કોઈએ ના ઓળખી, મધરસ્તે સામે મળતા, માંડ એકલદોકલ ગાડા કે બે-ચાર ગ્રામ્યજનોએ પણ તેને નાં ઓળખી, નાં તો તે વટવ્રુક્ષે કે નાં તો તે રાધાકૃષ્ણ મંદિરે પણ તેને ઓળખી! વળી, વ્યથા એવી કે નાં તો આજે અમાસ હતી કે નાં તો અત્યારે રાત્રિ. આ અગોચર મધ્યાહને વળી નિશાની શું વિસાત? તેને ત્રાદ્રશ્ય રીતે જો કોઈ જાણતું તો તે હતી અમાસની રાત્રિ અને ધીમી ગતિએ વાતો પવન!   હવે તે વર્ષો જુની, વિસરી ગયેળી એક યાદ માત્ર હતી નલિયા માટે, અલબત, કોઈ હતુ જ નહી કે જેને તે યાદ કરતુ હોય. પણ, હા, જેવો તેણે સ્ટેશનથી બહાર પગ મુક્યો અને નલિયા ભણી ડગલાં ભર્યા, કોઈકે તો તેને સ્મિત પ્રદાન કર્યું. સ્ટેશનની થોડે દુર એક ચબૂતરા નીચે એક લાકડીનાં સહારે બેઠેલ, વશીકૃત થ...
